GALLEY ASSISTANT FAMILIARIZATION PROGRAM

Two Batches of 25 Candidates each will be enrolled per year.

 

AUTHORITY

P&O Cruises - UK in association with CAI has designed a unique 10 weeks integrated program – GALLEY ASSISTANT FAMILIARISATION PROGRAM.

 

ELIGIBILITY / SELECTION

  • Candidate should be minimum 21 years of age on or before the date of completion of the course.
  • A pass in Senior Secondary Certificate (SSC) with English as medium of instruction.
  • Candidates completing SSC in language other than English should demonstrate competency in English.
  • A six months certificate in Food Production from a recognised institute.
  • Minimum experience of six months in Food / Culinary Industry / Allied areas is necessary.
  • The candidate should submit photocopies of all relevant certificates along with the application form.

ENROLLMENT

  • A notification is given in leading national dailies of the country by P&O manning agents in India and on the internet.
  • Two Batches consisting of 25 candidates each will be enrolled based on their performance in the overall selection process which may include a written test , personal interview and trade test.
  • Candidates can apply to the academy on a prescribed application form for registering their candidature which will be forwarded to the recruiting company.
  • Selected candidates should undergo medical examination at Mumbai.
  • Upon clearing the medicals candidate will be processed for necessary visas.
  • On successful stamping of the visa the candidate will be enrolled for the course conducted at Culinary Academy of India, Hyderabad only.
  • Date of the commencement of training / course will be intimated to candidates on successful selection / medicals and Visa stamping.

1.Do you provide hostel facility?

 

We will guide you to get proper accommodation within the vicinity of the college.

 

2.What is the age limit?


Min. 21 yrs. and Upper limit 28 yrs.

 

3.Is “STCW” 95 courses compulsory? Is “CDC” necessary for this course?


“Yes” you should have these before you board the ship.

 

4.What will be my salary after completing the course & joining P&O Cruises?


Salary will be 533/- sterling pounds per month for the Tr. Commis - I and 390/- sterling pounds per month for Tr. Commis. This is equivalent to Indian Rs. 45,000/- (Approx.) and Rs.27,500 (Approx.). Accommodation, medical, laundry, uniforms, food, two way flight tickets will be provided free of cost apart from the salary.

5.Where will the training program be held?


The training program will be held at Culinary Academy of India, Hyderabad only.

 

6.When is the selection done? What is the in take of the candidates for this course?


The selection will be done all round the year. 75 candidates (25 in each batch) will be selected on yearly basis.

 

7.Is the job guaranteed?


Your selection into the course by the company is itself an assurance for the job. This is however subject to your successfully completing the training program.

 

8.What is the fee structure for the Course?


Rs.40,500/- (Inclusive of Uniform, working lunch, study material, tuition fee, lab fee, etc.) for Tr. Commis-I and Rs.30,500/- (Inclusive of Uniform, working lunch, study material, tuition fee, lab fee, etc.) for Tr. Commis.

 

9.Are there any other additional cost to be borne by the candidate?


Candidates have to bear the following charges apart from the fee structure Visa charges, Medical Examination, Conveyance charges to Mumbai.
