CRICKET
CULINARIA
Nothing
unites the country better than ‘Cricket’. So, when it’s
the world cup season for India’s most popular sport, everybody
joins the bandwagon!! Just as “The way to a Man’s heart
is through his Stomach”, so also We at The Culinary Academy
of India believe that the way to a Cricketer’s heart is through
sheer Gastronomical Delight.
The Culinary Academy of India has created history by making a 15
feet tall & 2 feet wide, ‘edible bat’ & an edible
‘ball’ with a diameter of 60 inches, by just using sugar! This
extraordinary, marvelous, huge & sugary centerpiece has been
made with Pastillage & Royal Icing, both being sugar confectionery
works. Pastillage is a modeling paste made with Icing sugar &
corn flour bound together with an edible gum such as gelatin. Royal
Icing has been used to engrave the names of the players on this
giant sized bat. 200 kg’s of icing sugar, 300 egg whites along
with 5 kg’s of gelatin & 20 kg’s of corn flour have
been used to create this masterpiece. 3 Chef Instructors assisted
by 30 Student Chefs & 120 hours of dedicated work has resulted
in this ‘One of a Kind Creation’. The bat showcases
the faces of the 15 Indian cricketers with their names who are representing
The Blue Billion Express at The ICC World Cup, 2007 in West Indies.
From Spectacular feats, to the Unique & sometimes Unusual…
The Culinarians Wish the Men in Blue to recreate History as in 1983,
so that we can relish the excitement of their endeavors. The bat
will be on display in front of the Academy’s campus located
at 6-3-1219/6A, Umanagar, Begumpet from the first match that India
plays, that is 17th March,2007 till the final to be played on 28th
April. Thereafter it will be a feast for the students of the Academy
to relish!!
HOO HAA INDIA!! AA YA INDIA!!
