WESTERN INDIA CULINARY ASSOCIATION - WICA, a professional organization for chefs founded in Mumbai in the year 2002  has enjoyed a deep and long-standing tradition as Western India's true representation of professional chefs and cooks.

Chef’s Connect is a platform created to encourage culinary creativity and to professionally & socially engage chefs in a 1 day-theme-based educative & networking program. Chef’s Connect is held annually in Mumbai around International Chef’s Day, which is celebrated on October 20th, worldwide. Team WICA under the stewardship of well-known Chef Salil Fadnis of Sahara Star, Mumbai. He has been a driving force for the success of the Chef Connect initiative for over a decade now. He and his TEAM WICA have put in a lot of hard work in driving this Chef Connect event. WICA has always tried its best to elevate the image of the Culinary profession, popularize professional culinary art among people, and raise public awareness of the importance of healthy, safe, and good food.

As part of the Chef Connect WICA has been identifying suitable Chefs who are contributing to the overall development of the Chef Profession. Even this year WICA has identified individuals from the fraternity with significant contributions and achievements in various culinary-related fields. The WICA  technical committee after thorough scrutiny identifies the most current and appropriate candidates for the prestigious awards.  All excellence award recipients receive a distinctive engraved Trophy and certificate of citation symbolizing technical excellence.
