International Chefs Day 2023 Celebrations at Brand CAI

International Chefs Day is celebrated worldwide to honor the culinary profession and raise awareness about the importance of chefs in society. On October 20, 2023, Brand CAI, a renowned Culinary Academy in Hyderabad, ranked amongst the best culinary schools of the World organized a grand celebration to mark International Chefs Day. The theme for this year, as per the World Association of Chefs’ Societies (WACS), was “Growing Great Chefs.” The event aimed to showcase the talent and creativity of the final year students while highlighting the significance of Telangana’s rice production. 

In line with Telangana’s status as the second-largest producer of rice, Brand CAI decided to celebrate this achievement during the International Chefs Day event. The final year students of the academy prepared 23 different rice dishes from various states of India. What made this presentation unique was that the dishes were arranged to form alphabets, allowing attendees to read “Rice Preparations of India.” 

Chef Sudhir Pai, Treasurer of the Western India Culinary Association (WICA), graced the occasion as the chief guest. His presence added prestige to the event, and his expertise and experience in the culinary industry were highly valued by the attendees. The event witnessed the presence of numerous chefs and hospitality professionals from Hyderabad. The gathering included both renowned figures and aspiring talents, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie within the culinary industry. The event also attracted media coverage, further enhancing its reach and impact. 

The brain behind this innovative idea was Chef Sudhakar Rao, the Director/Principal of Brand CAI. His vision to highlight the significance of rice production in Telangana while incorporating it into the International Chefs Day celebrations was highly appreciated. The concept received accolades for its creativity and relevance.

Chef Akshay Kulkarni, the Head of the Department at Brand CAI, played a pivotal role in executing the entire event. Supported by Chef Praveen, a senior faculty member specializing in Indian cuisine, Chef Kulkarni ensured the smooth operation and coordination of the event. Their dedication and expertise were instrumental in the success of the International Chefs Day celebrations. 

The International Chefs Day 2023 celebrations at Brand CAI were a resounding success. The theme of “Growing Great Chefs” was effectively portrayed through the talent and creativity displayed by the final year students. The celebration of Telangana’s rice production added a unique touch to the event, making it memorable and relevant. The presence of Chef Sudhir Pai, the attendance of numerous industry professionals, and media coverage further elevated the significance of the event. The efforts of Chef Sudhakar Rao, Chef Akshay Kulkarni, and Chef Praveen were commendable in organizing and executing this remarkable celebration of International Chefs Day.
