On April 11, 2025, the Culinary Academy of India became a vibrant hub of flavors and cultural exchange as it hosted a spectacular Sri Lankan food festival and workshop. This culinary event was expertly orchestrated by the acclaimed Chef Suresh Kanna, a figure known for his innovative approach to traditional cuisines. Chef Kanna is the committee member of the Chefs Guild of Srilanka and board member of South India Chefs Association. The festival was organized by the South Indian Culinary Association (SICA) in collaboration with Brand CAI, reflecting a commitment to promoting diverse culinary traditions and fostering a deeper appreciation for global gastronomy.
The Workshop featured an impressive lineup of esteemed chefs from some of the most prestigious hotels and restaurants in Hyderabad, such as Novotel, ITC, Google Compass, Concu, and Lemon Tree. Each chef brought their unique flair and expertise to the table, showcasing a full-fledged buffet that celebrated the rich and diverse flavors of Sri Lankan cuisine. Attendees were treated to an array of dishes that highlighted the island nation’s culinary heritage, from aromatic curries and fresh seafood to delectable desserts, all crafted with authenticity and creativity.
The event was further elevated by the presence of Rajesh Gopalakrishnan, the General Manager of The Leela, who graced the occasion as the chief guest.
