Small little huts made with bamboo, cane and hay – multiples of them with an array of mouth watering food being served from each of them. Posters of old classics like Sholay and Zanjeer over the walls, a pan stall, loud music of the 70’s bollywood in the back ground, Khatiyas spread as seating arrangement and road directions displayed to go towards Amritsar, Patiala and Chandigarh …… one would get mesmerized to see four walls of a classroom get converted into a Dhaba restaurant done by our very own students of second year Batch A for their first semester final examinations.
The restaurant aptly named NH40 had the entire second years work as a team to create this themed lunch. The menu included Patiala Lassi, Samosa with Tamarind Chutney, Bite Size Masala Pappad, Dhaba da Kukkad, Paneer Bhurji, Anda Bhurji, Vegetable Kurchan, Plain Rice, Jeera Rice, Rajma Masala, Dal Fry, Laccha Paratha, Phulka, Gulabjamun with Vanilla Ice Cream.
Chef Naresh Vadlam-Sous chef, marriott Hyderabad was the Chief Guest and also examining the performance of the students. He was all praise for the efforts and cooking skills displayed by these young budding Chefs.
