Brand CAI, Culinary Academy of India welcomed its 23rd class of Bachelors in Catering Technology and Culinary Arts on Saturday, 14th July, 2018. The Final year and Second Year students planned a lavish theme buffet on their arrival. Going with the football fever prevalent from the last few weeks and the finals of FIFA scheduled on Sunday, the theme for the fresher’s party was aptly selected as FIFA 2018.
The Rendezvous- Students Dining Hall was decked up with footballs all over the walls and the cutouts of famous football players. A huge cutout of the World Cup was at the entrance signifying the First year students were selected from 350 Approx students who applied and now they feel proud that they have joined the top college of India.
The menu consisted of Soup to Salad to Indian, European and oriental fare. Not to forget the sweet tooth, a choice of more than six desserts on the fare. Popular dishes from France, Croatia, England & Sweden were there to witness. The Indian/European dishes were named after football players or theme such as Spicy Alex Ferguson Toast, Buffon’s Pumpkin Zoupa, Ibrahimovic Bicycle Salad, Chicharito’s Bean Salad, Griezmann’s Salad, Lampard Pie, Ronaldino’s Vegetable Stew, Vegetable in Maradona’s Secret Sauce, Henry’s Chilli Garlic Noodles, Fred’s Fried Rice, Messi Kodi Kura, Aloo Pepe Korma, Palakura Ronaldo Pappu, Neymar’s Bagara Rice, Chhetri ki Roti, Pogba’s Fruit Tart, Mango Bekham Mousse, Mocha Pele Glass, Zidane Choux Buns were few dishes on the buffet.
The footballs displayed were in recognition of all the 60 first years who joined and were a take away gift to them. Brand CAI has an intention to encourage soccer as one more game apart from cricket to the young generation.
