OSMANIA UNIVERSITY CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS-CENTENARY WALK BY CULINARY ACADEMY OF INDIA -2017

Osmania University (OU) in Hyderabad is conducting a row of programmes as it is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. As a part of the campus's centenary celebrations, the Hotel Management & Culinary Arts colleges have conducted a walk in the name of Centenary Walk on Sunday, 02 April, 2017.All the students represented the four core departments of the hotel, viz. Front Office, Food and Beverage Service, House Keeping and Food Production. There were almost 500 students dawning the white Chef uniform. The Chef cap was very uniquely designed with a cut out of the Osmania university .It was a very visual appeal to watch. Twenty Three colleges affiliated to the Osmania University offering a degree in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts participated in this 5k walk. Though very early in the morning, the participation was very encouraging with more than 2000 students, staff, faculty and principals participating in this well organized event. The university's vice chancellor (VC) S Ramachandram has joined the 5K walk that has been started from Somajiguda to Necklace Road in the city. The Guest of Honour Prof H.Venkateshwarulu and The Osmania University Alumni Association secretary Mr Shyam Mohan Were also present for the occasion.The university staff has also participated in the walk along with the college students. Talking to the media, the VC S Ramachandram has said that the university will complete 100 years on April 26, 2017.He was all praises to the Hotel Management division to have started this celebrations a month before. Starting that day, many events are going to be organised by the management of OU for 3 days.
